Hi there! I’m Alex Hailman, and this website is meant to show off my constructed languages. Making “conlangs” – made-up languages that aren’t just gibberish and can (ideally) function as well as natural languages – is a bit of a nerdy hobby, but also a very academic one, especially for me, since I like to use my research acumen and knowledge of ancient Near Eastern languages to create alt-historical and non-human languages.
Many of the most well-known modern conlangs, such as Klingon and Dothraki, are made specifically for media and showbiz. I haven’t had a chance to be involved in something like that yet, so I mostly make mine for fun and self-expression, to see what interesting concepts I can come up with, and to share them with the community.
