Elashi is a conlang I made for Miacomet’s 7th Speedlang Challenge, which was hosted on Reddit. It is meant to be set in the real world in modern times, on the island of Cyprus, and is closely related to Phoenician. This language shows off how much I can get done in a short time, as it was conceived, developed, and documented in 14 days, from the 11th to the 25th of October 2020. It also shows my familiarity with historical linguistics, especially of Semitic languages and those of the Eastern Mediterranean, as I was able to create it in two weeks without needing to do much new research.
